Halfway between Florence and Siena, among the verdant hills of an ancient land – where the sound of nature pervades over silence and privacy – stands the “Sole del Chianti”. Here it is still possible to experience the country life of times gone by.

The frenetic rhythms of modern life really do leave little space for the salvaging of traditions, the keeping alive of old fashioned skills – traces of a world by now passed away. Today, in small medieval towns – still unaltered over time – we may discover testimonies to medieval civilisations rooted in farming culture; where the relation between man and the earth was so strong as to be considered a bond not dissimilar from that between family relations.

The charm of these places is based not only on their rich artistic patrimony, but also (and above all) on the harmony of the landscape which has been ‘modelled’ over the centuries by generous nature herself and the constant labour of man. Thus the Chianti area offers you the chance to enjoy that particular trend – in continuous increase in rural tourism – for a holiday in tune with the environment.

Vacationing in this area allows you to relive the images of what belongs in our memories when human activities were almost all exclusively to do with farming and life was articulated by work in the fields in synchrony with the changing of the seasons.

It was the rhythms of nature which determined the calendar for sowing and harvesting. Important events were harvesting of grain, grape picking and olive picking. These were periods of intense work; but they were also social occasions during which the workers’ tiredness was mitigated by the companionship of friends and neighbours who would come to give a helping hand! Depending on the period chosen for your holiday the surrounding countryside will offer you picturesque scenes from summer hills covered in the cultivation of sunflowers in multicoloured rows to vineyards kissed by the sun at the beginning of Autumn.

The “Sole del Chianti” is located in a green oasis amidst olive trees over a hundred years old. Here the air is perfumed with the aromas of cypress trees and wild herbs. The “Sole del Chianti” is a hundred year old farmhouse .
In the spirit of the warm “Chiantigiana” reception we are offering our guests: 3 holiday apartments with Jacuzzi hydro-massage and 4 double rooms. This includes: Internet access, safe, telephone and Satellite T.V. Have a dip in our splendid outdoor swimming pool; caress your senses with a view of the far off horizon and the sweet geometry of the vineyards while the merry gurgling of a small waterfall originating from the pool will accompany you in your relaxation. Further – our complex hosts a Health and Beauty Centre with a hydro-massage bath, sauna and gym. It also has a stunning view of the Tuscan landscape. While your body is restored thanks to the most modern of beauty treatments, your palate may also enjoy the tasting of typical Tuscan genuine food products such as Extra Virgin Olive Oil and a fine wine from the farm itself which you can purchase on the premises.

THE FARMHOUSE

Situated in open countryside only a few kilometres from an urban town, it is the ideal place for a relaxing and peaceful holiday. This admirable example of a Tuscan farmhouse has recently been renovated in such a way as to reflect the tastes and styles of its owners who, as well as providing it with all the necessary comforts, wished to preserve the original structure with uncovered wooden beams on the ceilings, brickwork arches and floors in original terracotta stone – all this with the aim of respecting the architectural traditions of the Chianti area.

The Residential Complex consists of:
3 holiday apartments and 4 rooms with B&B service

From a large paving stoned area (corresponding to the original threshing yard) one reaches the ground floor of the complex. Here the RECEPTION OFFICE is located. Our staff are available to enable you to have a pleasant stay.

The strong point of this hall is the large fireplace whose merry crackling flames can create a truly unique atmosphere for you. The hall has doors opening into a kitchen, the Health and Beauty Centre and 2 holiday apartments: LA CASETTA and BELVEDERE. There are also steps leading to the next floor up.

The B&B takes up the first floor of the complex with the exception of a room in the “COLOMBAIA”. The “colombaia” (dovecote) is an architectonic element typical in Tuscan farmhouses. Situated on top of the roof, it was a kind of tower which offered refuge for doves and pigeons from the farm. Lodging in this room is a delightful experience. Your elevated quarters allows you to admire all 360° degrees of the Tuscan panorama!

Each room has its name dedicated to characters from farming life. The room situated in the dovecote is called: CAPOCCIO. This referred to the eldest of men who made decisions for the family (which were, at times, very numerous). He also organised the work in the fields. Another room is called: MASSAIA. This refers to the wife of the “Capoccio”. She was the one who supervised the entire household. She made decisions regarding food; the vegetables from the patch to conserve, to attend to, etc… She managed a small army of farmyard animals such as chickens, ducks, doves…. animals which are almost on the verge of extinction in our countryside

FATTORE – This was a prominent person in the farming world. This person would manage the farm and administrate the human resources of the territory.

SENSALE – This person was a mediator in the sale of animals and farm produce. His ability in drawing up contracts was often used in creating matches for marriages as well!

Every room is elegantly furnished. They all have air conditioning, mini-bar, safe, Satellite T.V., telephone.

On the first floor there is a games room and an “Internet point” available for use for our guests.







The names of the holiday apartments in the Holiday Residence refer to the names assigned to the fields of the nearby properties.



1.) LA CASETTA: (2+2):
This is the smallest apartment of the Holiday Home Complex. It is situated entirely on the ground floor with a view of the pool. Entry is by a private gate or directly from the ground floor of the Reception Office. It consists of 1 double room; bathroom with bath and shower; kitchen complete with oven, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine; living room with settee for two and a lovely fireplace. The apartment has air conditioning, telephone, Internet access and Satellite T.V.

2.) BELVEDERE: (8+2):
This is the largest apartment of the Holiday Home Complex. It is situated on 2 floors. Entry is either direct from the ground floor of the building or by private entrance which opens onto a large space opposite – the original threshing floor – with a pleasant view of the pool.

On the ground floor there is the kitchen equipped with oven, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine and a large living room with fireplace.

On the first floor there are 3 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedded room. One double room is furnished with a unique loft where there is a comfortable sofa bed for two. In the other double room there is a large characteristic balcony with a splendid view of the country. All the double rooms have: Satellite T.V., telephone, Internet access and private bathroom with Jacuzzi hydo-massage.

3.) POGGIARELLO: (4+2):
This was built out of the interior of the ex-barn. It takes up the entire first floor of the Complex. It consists of: a kitchen equipped with oven, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine; living room with fireplace; double bedroom; twin bedded room; bathroom with shower and bathtub; telephone and Satellite T.V. What is unique to the apartment is the large loggia, the private garden and direct access to the swimming pool.


These apartments have been renovated with respect for the criteria of rural architecture. Thus attention has been given to the style and design of the buildings’ original state. Hence the following: hand painted ceramic bathroom tiles; upholstering coordinated with interior pastel colours; rooms furnished with antique furniture; elegant and comfortable areas creating an atmosphere of relaxation ensuring you have a pleasant stay.
