Located in the heart of Chianti, on the panoramic road which links Poggibonsi to Castellina, the ancient Romitorio di Serelle rose in the Middle Ages.
Its highly suggestive environment unites discretion and exclusiveness with the convenience of being easily accessible by road connections.
Romitorio di Serelle has been completely restored, preserving the original characteristics and using traditional materials of Chianti rural architecture.
The location between Siena and Florence and the nearness to historical towns like Castellina in Chianti, San Gimignano, Certaldo, Colle Val d'Elsa, Barberino and Monteriggioni make the tourist potential of this place unique.
The hospitality is offered in apartments of different types, exclusive and comfortable flats, independent from each other, furnished according to the rural tradition, but offering high quality standards.
All apartments are provided with heating, kitchenette, Microwave, sat TV, telephone; many of them have private garden or arcade and fireplace.
The Tavern, exclusively reserved for the guests, offers all the wine and gastronomic products that have made Tuscan cuisine famous around the world. Among the most outstanding specialties are Chianti Classico wine, which is produced on a nearby farm and the fragrant, high quality olive-oil, which is used for the preparation of tasty traditional dishes.
The menu includes regional seasonal dishes such us ribollita (vegetable soup), pappa al pomodoro (tomato soup), bruschetta (oiled bread with garlic), panzanella, all delicious and at the same time very simple.
The cellar holds an important collection of prestigious wines. Its vaulted ceiling and thick stone walls contribute to maintain the inside temperature cool throughout the year (12-18°C). In addition, its sun exposure and degree of humidity allow the best preservation of the wines it holds.
The surroundings, reach in woods and cypress groves, invite to go for a cheering walk and to discover the minor Tuscany, with its castles and country parishes.
At guest’s disposal common living room, mountain bikes, bowls court, toys and amusements for children, green open spaces, trekking routes, horse-riding nearby the property (16 Km).
A well-known wine shop presents several vintages of Chianti wines on our panoramic terrace on Wednesdays. Wine-tasting is free and for our guests only.
From Romitorio di Serelle you can easily reach the main cities of art such as: Florence 32 Km, Siena 28 Km, San Gimignano 23 Km, Castellina in Chianti 8 Km.
The swimming-pool (16 x 8 sq. m.) is part of a unique landscape, on the verge of the woods and overlooking a large vineyard.

How to reach us
- by car from the North:
Once you arrive in Florence, take the A1 motorway towards Rome and exit at Firenze Certosa. Here take the freeway towards Siena and exit at San Donato. Then take road number 101 towards Castellina in Chianti. After 8 kilometres, on your right you will find the sign to "Romitorio di Serelle".
Take this little country road and after 1,6 km, turn right following the yellow sign to "Serelle". We are in front of you.
- by car from the South:
Once you arrive in Siena, take the Florence-Siena freeway towards Florence. Exit at Poggibonsi and follow the indications for road number 429 towards Castellina in Chianti. Travel along this road for 12 Km., then turn left when you find the sign to "Romitorio di Serelle".
Go up for 100 mt. and turn left following the yellow sign to "Serelle". We are in front of you.
